Great product with ability to fit USB C and USB A. Perfect for moving files between the two USB types

Basically useless.
Sandisk USB devices are well known for overheating (I have found out since). This is an extreme case, probably because the tiny size of the enclosure doesn't provide adequate heatsinking
Also, it tends to crash if you try to copy more than 8.5GB at once to it (on a 512GB drive, so 1/64th of its capacity). I am guessing it has an 8GB internal write buffer and the internal micro-controller crashes if this gets full. So its claimed 'write speed' may be technically correct on the USB3 bus, but the internals not only can't even approach keeping up with it, but actively crash and lose data from it.
NOBODY SHOULD BUY THIS CLASS OF DEVICE FROM SANDISK. EVER! I wouldn't even trust these devices to store targeted-advertising, let alone any data I had reason to care about!
Definitely the kind of 'made for sale, not for use' products that are polluting our landfills to the end of humanity and the designers and manufacturers should be ashamed (but undoubtedly are not at all).
